Project SMART-TECH Home Storage™
As a result of an increase in home workouts throughout COVID isolations, and subsequently, a surge in users purchasing SMART-TECH™ equipment, Les Mills required a home storage solution that would take up minimum space within the home workout space.
Formworks developed two systems that enabled users to select the appropriate solution for their own unique requirements.
The vertical storage rack can conveniently store up to two SMARTBAR™ barbells, up to twelve weight plates, and SMARTBAND™ resistance bands.
The configuration of this storage rack enables users to free up valuable floor space while enabling easy weight access. Careful consideration was given to the safety of the vertical storage rack to ensure if a child gained access it would not tip or release the weight plates. Following extensive testing and reference to international standards, an anti-tip stabilising strap was integrated into the rack to secure it to a wall and eliminate the need for floor anchors.
For users that had a more dedicated home workout space, Formworks created a minimalistic wall storage rack, with each prong holding a combination of up to two SMARTBAR™ barbells or four weight plates.
The wall storage rack enables users to keep their floor space free and their weights easily accessible. With it’s small footprint and minimalist design, the system can be easily expanded for extra storage of weight plates and equipment through the inclusion of additional wall storage racks.
